Falcon Lake Fishing Report-April 2009 |
|
April 1- Fishing is still good at Falcon. Spring is here, but it seems like we are getting cold front after cold front. Water temperature is at 67 degrees and the water level is at 300.1 ft. with Mexico and U.S. releasing about 200 cubic meters per second; the lake is dropping 3 inches a day. Best fishing pattern right now is deep main lake points and creek channels with some smaller fish working shad in 8 to 10 ft. of water. Fishing should improve by the end of April, and some big fish will be caught at the Bass Champs Tourn. The last week we have averaged about 28 to 36 lbs. stringers usually right before or after the front comes through. Get your flipping sticks and football jigs ready; if you don't have one stop by Robert's or go to www.powertackle.com before you fish Falcon Lake. I have personally fished this line of rods on a daily basis, and have caught a large number of big bass along with my customers. I strongly recommend them. You need to fish one to feel the difference. The big ones won't get away. Judy and Tim from Power Tackle will help you with the right rods. Stop by Robert's Fish N' Tackle and we will also assist you with everything you need to fish this lake successfully. Robert Amaya Robert's Fish N' Tackle P.O. Box 578 Zapata, Texas 78076 956.765.1442
