Lake Falcon Fishing Report as of Jan. 30, 2008.
Lake Level 283.53 and Stable
Water Temp 59.5

I fished with a friend on Jan. 28th, 29th and 30th, and found a different Lake than I had fished in the Stren Tournament. During the Stren Tournament the water was warming and falling 4 inches a day, this had the fish very active and feeding, great time for the Santone Spinnerbait. The water stopped falling on the 16th and cooled off a bit. The lake has been stable since. All this combined for tougher conditions. We did catch a #8.9 and #7.10 and averaged 18 fish per day. Most all of the fish were caught on June Bug creature baits flipped in 3 to 5 foot beanie bushes and hardwood. The fish were not active at all, we had to flip right in the middle of the thickest part of the bush or tree and soak it for 30 seconds or longer to get bit. I was using #65 braid and the hottest new rod on the market (Power Tackle No Ratz Series Flipping stick). I highly recommend this rod to horse the big ones out of the thick stuff. The few spinner bait fish caught on the trip, I was using #50 braid and a white Santone spinner bait 1 gold willow leaf and 1 silver willow and the best all around rod I have used (Power Tackle Paragon PG 104-7'6"). The best areas were Coyotes, Big Tiger, Blanco and the Ox bow right before Burros.
