Falcon Lake Fishing Report July 2008 |
|
Hello from Zapata Texas and Falcon Lake. Fishing here continues to be phenomenal. The weather has been at the 100 degree mark nearly ever day, but the fishing has been at least 120 degrees! The lake level is still dropping, about 1/2 inch a day, so we really need some rain, and hoping that the rain North West of us will help the lake level some. The majority of the fish have been caught flipping hardwoods in 8' - 12' of water with crank baits, Fat Free Shad, and Norman lures in the perch and shad patterns. We are giving the Power Tackle PGC170 and PTC70 a heavy workout and they are proving once again to be able to crank out these fierce fish. A large number of 7# to 11# bass have been caugh flipping a 10" power worm with a PT05-7'6", and a GMP5-7'3". Water temperature has been at 86 degrees, so if you get the chance, come on down and Fish Falcon, and why you are here be sure to stop by my tackle store, Robert's Fish n Tackle to just say hello. We try to carry all of the latest baits made for this lake and we have the Power Tackle rods in stock to wrestle these monster bass. Check out the braggin board for the month of June, you will see just a few of the massive bass we are pulling out of this lake. Good Fishing to you, Robert Amaya
