Falcon Lake Fishing Report - May 2008 |
|
Judy and I have fished at Falcon the past few weekends. The fishing was phenomenal. The first weekend, the weather was sunny and windy. We were forced to fish in Tigers. We caught fish throwing a 1 oz Oldham’s football jig with a Strike King Rage Craw trailer in watermelon red and green pumpkin with our PT04. Color did not really seem to matter when we got into the fish. Many times during the day we both had fish on at the same time, anywhere from 5-8 pounders. We also Carolina rigged with a 10” power worm or the new 7” Zoom Super Fluke in watermelon red, again with the PT04.
This past weekend, the wind gave us a bit of a break and we were able to fish on the open water by the dam and river ledges on the lower end of the lake. Again, we caught good fish, not quite as big of sacks as the weekend before, but in the 34# range. Once again our Power Tackle rods were given the ultimate “Falcon” test and passed with flying colors. These powerful rods were made for this lake!
The fishing forecast for Falcon just seems to keep getting better, cannot wait to get back down there and fish again.
Good Fishing to you,
