Falcon Lake Fishing Report-September 2008 |
|
The water level is 277.85 ft and rising due to the recent heavy rains. The water temp is 84 degrees. Fishing at Falcon has been a bit slow due to the rising waters, but last Friday, the end of August, the fish moved up to the shallow water after the water stabilized, and we caught a good number of fish. We caught them in 1 1/2 - 6 feet of water with spinner baits, swimbaits and Stanley ribbit frogs. Some fish weighing in the 10.5 lb. area were also caught on jigs in creek channels next to shallow flats. If you like to fish top water baits, swim baits and spinner baits, be sure to have a PG104 7'6" or a PG104.5 7'6" rod to catch these big fish with. I use these rods on a daily basis and with great success. The catfish bite is excellent witht he rise of the lake. Big cats up to 30 lbs. are being caught on a rod and reel with shrimp and cut perch. Be sure to stop by Robert's Fish n Tackle next time you are planning a Falcon fishing trip. We have all of the tackle you need plus Texas and Mexico fishing license. Until then...
