Power Tackle - Falcon Lake Fishing Report
Falcon Lake Report-October 2008

The lake level at Falcon is now at 289.75 ft. and the water temp. is 78 degrees.  With all of the water flowing down the river from Amistad, there is a lot of logs and debris in the main channel up to marker 12.  If you fish the north end of the lake and Salado River, keep an eye out for the floating logs.  The water temp. is slowly cooling making fish more active.  Some fish are being caught of top water baits early; but spinnerbaits are working after the top water bite slows down.  Also 10" worms in plum, purple and Okochobee Craw colors are catching nice fish up to 10 lbs in weight.  Fish are scattered, but once you locate them, you can do really well.  Be particularly curious in old huisache trees with seed beans around them in about 8 to 10 ft. of water.  Flip bushes with Lake Fork hyper worm or swim it through the cover.  This is the time to come fish Falcon.  The weather is getting cooler, and the lake is looking great.

See you next time!!!
