Lake Falcon Fishing Report-June 2010

June 2010

Fishing at Falcon Lake can be awesome with all the thread fin shad and tilapia getting packed in schools...that means the bass are not far away. Start early on wind blown points and hang on... lot's of fish are being caught in 1 to 4 ft of water in these areas. Small swim baits or just swimming brush hogs or jigs can raise your heart beat. There are alot of small bushes in these areas and the fish run for cover every time the PG104-7'6" hits the water.  It is one of my favorites with a Garcia Revo 7.1 ratio. You need to be on your best game to get them to the boat and let me tell you it's a battle. This time of the year is also the start of summer and a lot of big fish are starting to gang up on small gravel humps and points in about 12 to 20 ft of water. You must look for areas like this with some scattered trees on them and the game is on! PG104.5-7'6" Carolina rigged with 10" to 12" worms with a 1 oz. weight and a 18" leader worked slowly on gravel and bumping wood, this technique will get you some wicked strikes but you have to have a rod with the right backbone...and this rod is it! These fish do not play around...thanks again and good fishing,if you are planning to fish Falcon or book a trip with us call us or e-mail us we be glad to help..........
