Fishing has been a little slow with several small cold fronts coming through. Water temps are in the upper 50’s and slightly stained. Fish are still concentrated near deep water. Fish drop-offs near the river channel with 1/2 oz. junebug power worms. A great rod for fishing big worms deep is the Power Tackle Paragon PG-104 7’6”.
Some fish this month will start to move up, try to find clear water in the backs of creeks and old farm ponds and fish a reaction strike fathead jr. or a watermelon gold or green pumpkin chatter-bait. Most guide trips have been averaging about 15 to 20 fish a day with the best 5 weighing between 14-18 pounds.
