Lake Choke Canyon Fishing Report-February 2009 |
|
water clarity: stained temp.: mid 60's February is time for the river. Start looking for spawning fish with the next full moon phase. Fishing has been fairly good, catching 15 to 25 bass a day. Fishing up the river on the creek bends and drains with DT's perch color, and watermelon red senkos. If the sun is out, go to the back of the drains in the creeks about 2 to 5 foot, using chatter baits and 3 oz. spinner baits (chartreuse and white). If you don't like the river, the lower end has been producing fish in about 12 to 18 foot of water (crankbaits in the texas red color, or ten inch worms). Fishing on the hydrilla line throwing 3/4 oz. red rattle traps around mid lake (Callahan area) has been producing good fish too. Thanks and Good Fishing Charles Whited 512-557-6772
