Lake Choke Canyon Fishing Report-June 2009

Water clarity: slightly stained

Water temp.:  86

Fishing is very, very good at Choke right now. We are averaging about 50 fish a day.   Fish from 8 lbs. up to 13 lbs. are being caught daily.  The frog bite and buzz bait bite is turning on early in the morning around the grass lines.  There are still lots of fish in the 8 to 12 feet range if you like beating the banks, plenty of fish to be caught using small crank baits and eighth ounce senkos and brush hogs.  If you like river fishing the San Miguel Creek is clear and fish are biting.  The lower end of the lake fishing humps and river channels with a 1 ounce carolina rigs and football head jigs have been producing as well.

Thanks,

Charles Whited
