Lake Choke Canyon Fishing Report - March 2008
Written by Charles Whited - Pro Staff

March on Choke will find water temps. in the mid 60’s and the fish in a full blown spawn.

Start looking for spawning fish in the backs of creeks like Three Fingers, Four Fingers and Possum. These spawning fish can be caught several different ways; a frog is excellent both early and late. Power Tackle has a new rod out called a SB-4-8’0”. This rod was designed as a swim bait rod but the 8’ length makes it great for the long casts needed for frog fishing and the heavy action helps in getting big fish out of the thick stuff. Later in the day as the water temp warms, key on 3-7 foot bushes near the backs of creeks and fish spinner bait or chatter bait.
