Choke Canyon Fishing Report March 2010

lake temp.  56

clarity-stained

Fishing in March, there are some big fish moving shallow to spawn on the full moon.  Watch the weather for 3 to 4 consecutive warm days and fishing should really get good.  February was a hard month because of the unusually cold South Texas weather.  Start fishing the protected pockets from the North wind using the white chatter baits, red rattle traps and watermelon red senkos.  There are still alot of fish deep, fishing 18 to 35 foot, using one ounce football head jig and carolina rig.  There are some bites in the San Miguel arm of the river using black and blue jigs and black and blue sinkos. The water is muddy from all the rain.  If the river does clear it will be the place to be.

Good luck and good fishing!

Thanks,
Charles Whited
