Lake Choke Canyon Fishing Report-November 2008 |
|
Choke Canyon fish are beginning to settle into a strong fall pattern which will give way to several strong patterns. One of the strongest patterns for the next month will be to throw a ½ oz gold rattle trap. Look for patchy grass or outside grass lines in 10’ – 12’ of water with a tapering or broken edge. I fish a trap on a Power Tackle PGC170 fiberglass cranking rod, the fiberglass blank really cuts down on lost fish especially those hooked on the end of long casts. Other strong patterns this month will be fishing a white buzz bait in the morning. This bite will be good in the same areas as the trap. A Strike King shadilicious 5” swim bait will also produce big fish this month especially in clearer water areas like Opossum Creek and Four Fingers. The deep water bite will also produce especially later in the day. Try fishing a Carolina rigged sour grape worm on main lake ledges, points and pond dams in 10’- 20’ of water. The flipping bite will also produce many big fish, key on thick outside grass lines in 10’-12’, sour grape worms and 1 oz. jigs will work well in the grass. Good Fishing,Charles Whited1-512-557-6772
