Lake Choke Canyon Fishing Report- October 2008 |
|
Water temperature is still around 90 degrees and the clarity of the water is clear. It is getting time for top water baits. In the cool mornings we are throwing a frog and a black buzz bait on the PG104.5 7'6". There are alot of dragon flies around the hydrilla in the morning to mid day and the bass are after them. If there is a bit of wind then I suggest you stick with the top water methods, but if it calms, pull out the flippin' sticks, the GM5 7'3" and the longer PG105 7'6" and use the 1 1/2 oz weights. We are getting alot of bites with this, and don't be scared to flip into the back of the grass mats. If they start pulling water out of the lake, concentrate on the outer edge of the grass. If flippin is not your style, there is a crank bait bite about 12 to 18 foot. I use a perch colored DD22 on a PGC170 7'0". Good Luck, Charles Whited
