Power Tackle - Lake Choke Canyon Fishing Report
Lake Choke Canyon Fishing Report-December 2008

water temp. low 60's

water clarity: stained

The fishing is better at the lower end of the lake if you can find clear water. There is still a 3-5 foot rattle trap bite, I had an eleven and a half pounder on a gold rattle trap last week.  The bite has been pretty tough on the lower end of the lake, but whe you do get bit, these fish are usually a lot better and bigger.

I am using various baits such as 10 inch power worms and chatter baits on the edge of the grass.  There are still a few fish deep but the main bite is up the river in 2-8 foot of wate. We are averaging about 40 fish a day with a couple being 5-6 pounds.  The mid day bite has been the best with white buzz baits and green pumpkin chatter baits.  Morning and evening june bug worms up the river has been the best bet.

Thanks,

Charles Whited
