Lake Waco Fishing Report-October 2008

Lake Waco-  The fishing is really good right now and this should continue for a while.  Start early with a black buzzbait on a PG144 7'0" around shallow brush and around points with chunk rocks on it.  Then switch to a PG105 7'6" and a black and blue jig.  Pitch right in the center of the thickest shallow brush you can find.  Look for areas that help the fish and the wind funnel the baitfish in the mouths of gravel pits, this has been very productive.

Lake Belton-  This lake has been getting better.  The north end has been producing some quality fish.  Use a Bandit 200 series and make long casts across shallow points with a PGC170 7'0".  This rod really helps throw that smaller bait farther.  Also, when out there, take a natural colored jig on a PG104.5 7'6" and flip around any laydowns and chunk rocks.

Til next month,

Good Fishing,

Lowell Bennett
