Lake Waco Fishing Report- September 2008

Fishing has still been solid here on Lake Waco with lots of numbers being caught.  Early in the morning, fish have been feeding on the points at the mouth of creeks and rivers.  The fish and the bait usually make a big move to the mouths of the major feeders to this lake and the North and South Bosque River.  Start early in these areas with shallow crankbaits and the PGC170-7'0" or a  PG104.5 7'6" with a white jig being swam over and around the laydowns.  After the day goes on, start moving more shallow and tighter to the brush, usually 3 feet or less.  A jig tied on 25 lb. line and a PG105 7'6" is working very well.  Keep an eye out for the large schools of shad in these areas.

Good luck and keep fishing!
