Spring is just around the corner
The promise of spring 2009 is drifting or should I say BLOWING in the air at FULL FORCE now! The weather has been like the typical roller coaster ride that Texas weather so often gives us, but that has not slowed down our hard cored anglers. And as I say this, I think of the wonderful fishermen up north that I have visited with this past month that tell me the ice is too thick on the lake to fish…I will try to NOT complain about the now 85 degree weather we are having…even though the wind may blow us all sideways! Northern guys…the warm days are coming, just hold on!
Tournament News
February was a very busy month for the tournament pro staffers as every weekend in February we were following our guy’s successes on the trail.
First off to mention one big event we took part in, the BASSMASTER CLASSIC held in Shreveport, Louisiana. This 3 day event held in mid February brought in over 107,000 spectators to the great sport of bass fishing. Not only did 51 of the finest anglers in the world compete in this “super bowl”, there was a tackle show going on that rivaled the yearly ICAST show. Tackle dealers from all over convened to demonstrate and sell their wares. Power Tackle dealer Shane Moore with Southwest Parts in Dallas had a full booth there with his tackle and a full line up of Power Tackle rods. Shane’s booth was first rate, and he stated that our rods received so much exposure and recognition. The phone has been busy since then with orders, questions and just general interest in our product. Power Tackle’s Brian Clark, Mark Menendez and Stephen Johnston were in attendance the entire time, promoting the sport and our rods. We really appreciate you guys for your hard work, as it is paying off in a big way for us!

Our hats off to the Weekend Angler
We talk about the “big” tournaments like there is nothing else, but we here at Power Tackle do understand and want to be a big part of the weekend angler. The angler that wants to land that dream fish in his boat as badly as the full time tournament fisherman. Fishing to that man or woman means as much as a way of life or a simple “getaway” from the sometimes scary, and bad news we keep hearing. They want to be a part of what we believe is the greatest individual sport that anyone can participate in. Our rods are made with such quality and commitment that they can and will be passed on to the next generation of fishermen. We want to thank every one of you that wear a Power Tackle cap, display a decal on their boat or truck and especially you that have committed to owning a Power Tackle rod, for helping to make us one of the fastest growing names in the American made yackle industry. You can consider yourself part of our family!
