Hello again from the Power Tackle staff Hopefully your fall fishing and championship season are going well. Many members of the Power Tackle pro-staffers have been putting their Power Tackle rods to the test this season. With several big events still to go it looks like everybody is off to a good start. It Pays to Fish Power Tackle The 2008 Fishing for Freedom tournament was held on Lake Belton October 4th. Power Tackle offered $1000 for big bass of the tournament if caught while using a Power Tackle rod. Not only was the big bass caught, but the overall winner used Power Tackle rods to seal the deal. Chuck Guthrie owner of Tight Lines Tackle won the event with 16.88 Lbs and Chuck caught a 7.52 Lb using a Yellow Magic and a PGC-170-7’0”. CONGRATULATIONS CHUCK!! 
Keith Combs presents Chuck Guthrie with a check for $1000 for catching the big bass of the tournament on a Power Tackle rod. Power Tackle will also be offering $500 to the winners of the remaining two Tuff-Mann qualifiers and $1000 to the winners of the Tuff-Mann Championship if they win while using Power Tackle rods. Tournament News Power tackle pro-staffer Keith Combs recently finished 36th at the last FLW Series event held on Clarks Hill earning $8,230. Keith used a combination of a shaky head worm fished on a SPN-43 7’0” spinning rod and a square billed crank bait fished on a PGC-170 to catch all of his fish. Keith also used the same techniques to finish 12th at the final BASS open on Lake Texoma the following week. 
Landan Ware and Rick Scott with their winning stringer at Eagle Mountain. Several Power Tackle pro-staffers cleaned up at the Bass Champs championship held October 18th on Eagle Mountain Lake. Landan Ware and his partner Rick Scott collected the first place prize of $30,000. They flipped shallow docks with a 3/8 oz. jig and a PG-104.5 to best the field by over 9 lbs. Pro-staffer Mike Kernan and his partner David Weber finished 4th in this event while using a PGC-166 and a square billed crank bait on docks.
