Hello again from the Power Tackle staff Hopefully the extreme summer heat is not slowing down your fishing! It seems that the action on many of our South Texas lakes is only getting better as we receive phone calls and e-mails daily from fishermen bragging on their Power Tackle rods. Tournament News FLW tour Power Tackle pro-staffers Keith Combs and Jerry Green put several Power Tackle rods to the test on the final FLW tour stop at Lake Erie. Combs drop-shotted 20-23’ rock piles with a SPN-43 to finish 9th.
Green fished the same technique a little shallower and also cranked a trap on a PGC-170 to finish 34th. Congratulations to them both. Regional tournaments With the grass flipping bite turning on at Amistad, Tim Reneau and Jaime Buitron won the Del Bravo open. They flipped 1¼ jigs with a PT-04 and swim baited with a SBP-5 to bring in 10 fish for 41 pounds. Saltwater series After many requests, Power Tackle will be introducing their saltwater line of rods late this month “The Thin Water Series” will cater to most all your bay fishing needs. The initial line will include both spinning and casting models and be offered in both palming and ACS reel seats.
